Conference Exhibitor
The Leadership Command College Alumni Association (LCCAA) would like to invite you join us as a sponsor, or exhibitor, at our upcoming annual training conference. Allow us to give you a little information on LCCAA so you have a bet-ter understanding of who we are and what we are about.
The Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) was created by the 70th Texas Legislature to develop the administrative, analytical, and executive skills of current and future law enforcement officials at no cost to either the participant or his/her agency. Public administration, management issues, the political, legal, and so-cial environments of policing, and advanced technical issues are studied in detail. It is the largest and most sophisticated statewide preparation program for police management in the United States.
The Leadership Command College (LCC) is a training component of LEMIT and requires police supervisors to apply for the program, complete an overview, complete three modules; each of which are three weeks long, and write a re-search paper before they graduate. The first module is held at Texas A&M University, the second module is held at Texas Woman's University in Denton, and the third module is held at Sam Houston State University. Completion time for the program is 1 to 2 years and officers receive college credit once they graduate.
The program focuses on supervision within law enforcement today and exposes the officers to best practices in a variety of topics from legal issues, to physical fitness, to internal issues and issues with the community. Over 1500 officers have graduated from the program and the waiting list to enter the program is approximately one year.
We have established an Alumni Association for graduates of the program. Each summer, the LCCAA organizes a training conference and strives to bring in world class speakers to keep our law enforcement supervisors up to date on best practices and trends. This summer the LCCAA will host our 16th annual training conference and we will have Dr. Jack Enter and Nancy Baird presenting. We have officers and supervisors from all over the State attend our train-ing. Our training conference is not limited to just LCC alumni. It is open to every law enforcement officer in Texas.
One of our goals is to reach out to sponsors and exhibitors who are willing to help us bring quality training to our officers, while allowing you to make contacts with police supervisors from across Texas. Please review the attached LCCAA Sponsor/Exhibitor Form and choose a package that is right for you. Thank you for your support of Texas Law Enforcement and we hope to see you at the conference in June!
